Kevin Riggs
Co-founder, Partner, CEO & Board Member
Kevin Riggs is one of Missouri’s founding members of legal cannabis, entering the space with early advocacy and helping to co-found one of the state’s first vertically integrated companies, BeLeaf Medical Co. During his time at Missouri University of Science and Technology, while pursuing a degree in Engineering, Riggs was on a football scholarship as a Defensive Lineman. Throughout youth and college play, Riggs suffered multiple concussions, leading to an ongoing journey with anxiety that he believes developed from his time on the field and his interest in all-natural anxiety treatments, such as cannabis. In 2003, Riggs became CEO and owner of Cole & Associates, Inc., a civil engineering firm operating across the country, recognized for his work in 2005 with St. Louis Business Journal’s “40 Under 40.” When studies began publishing in 2012 about the benefits of cannabis on pain and anxiety management, especially related to athletes and Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy (CTE) research, Riggs saw an opportunity to dive into the emerging industry and integrate his interest in using cannabis for medicinal purposes and his love of sports. He became an early and active member of Missouri’s cannabis PAC, also serving in other political positions like City Council President in St. Charles, MO, and the Lewis & Clark Leadership Fund. In 2015, he was introduced to Mitch Meyers after she was rewarded with her first medical license. Riggs became a member of the board of Meyers’ CBD company, BeLeaf Life’s Oil, and in 2018, he teamed up with Meyers and other co-founders to create BeLeaf Medical Co. In October 2023, Riggs stepped into a new leadership role, taking over as CEO to help facilitate the goal of BeLeaf Medical Co. becoming an industry leader in the Midwest space. He envisions the future of BeLeaf in the cannabis industry as leading in commitment to consistency in quality, community, and inclusivity. In addition to his strides in the cannabis industry, Riggs has a passion for sports, music, and collecting Harley Davidson motorcycles.
